Alcove Home Care exists for one reason: to make it possible for people in Simcoe County to live well at home, with the right help at the right time.
Why we started
Most families reach out for home care during a hard week — a hospital discharge, a fall, a diagnosis, or the moment it becomes clear that a parent can no longer manage alone. In those weeks, the industry often answers with call centres, rotating strangers and unclear pricing.
We started Alcove to do the opposite: small, local, and personal. One point of contact who knows the file. The same caregiver whenever possible. Clear plans and clear rates, in writing, before care begins.
How we work
- Free consultation. We listen first — who the care is for, what a normal day looks like, what is getting harder, and what the family can realistically support.
- A written care plan. Practical and specific: tasks, times, preferences, safety notes and your rate.
- Caregiver matching. We choose the caregiver for skills and personality fit, and introduce them before the first visit.
- Ongoing check-ins. We review the plan as needs change, and you can reach a real person when something is not right.
What we commit to
- Screening that is real. Vulnerable Sector police checks, references and interviews before any first shift.
- Continuity. We work hard to keep the same caregiver with the same client.
- Transparency. Plan and pricing in writing. No hidden fees and no surprise invoices.
- Honesty about fit. If your needs call for clinical care or another provider is a better match, we will tell you.
- Respect. Care happens in someone’s home. We treat people, their routines and their belongings with care.
Where we serve
We provide care across Barrie, Innisfil and the surrounding Simcoe County communities, and throughout the Greater Toronto Area — Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham and Richmond Hill. If you are just outside the area, ask — we will be honest about whether we can serve you well.
